Red Peppers

Red Bell Peppers are often a staple ingredient in many dishes. The Bell Pepper is also referred to as a sweet pepper in other regions. It is significantly lower in capsaicin, a measurement of spiciness, in Scoville Heat Units (SHU) than other chili peppers. Depending on the variety, Bell Peppers generally fall between 0-300 SHU, whereas the Jalapeno Pepper is between 4000-8000, compared to the Cayenne Pepper which can be up to 50,000 SHU.

Like the majority of the produce we grow, these are an organic seed variety and are grown in a natural manner, free from synthetic fertilizers, harmful chemicals and GMO free.

These Red Bell Peppers are ripened from a Green Bell Pepper, so they take more love and care to grow. Often the Red Bell Pepper is a more subtle, mild flavour compared to the Green Bell Pepper.

Red Bell Peppers are also dried and crushed to make the spice Paprika. 

Bell peppers are sold individually, with each pepper having an approximate weight of 227g (1/2 lb).
