This horse manure is varied in the stage of composting, but should be considered hot compost. This makes an excellent addition to your garden compost bin or can be used to mix with on site soils to add additional nutrients. Horse manure is generally considered 0.7-0.3-0.6 NPK fertilizer and its pH is slightly alkaline in nature.
Manure can provide available nitrogen to aid in excellent plant growth and will help maintain soil health to allow your plants to thrive. Nitrogen rich manure will provide available nutrients to assist mycorrhizal fungi added from our wood chip compost. Animal manure from hooved animals (horses, cows, pigs, sheep) is generally more alkaline and can provide excellent balance to slightly acidic wood chips.
Seeds and plants should never be planted directly in to the compost but always well mixed with soil, as compost is too strong on its own.
Sold by the 20L bag, which will provide 8.4 square feet of top dressing (1" thick).
